ItineraryPick up at your hotel is usually from 7.30 to 8.00am. You will usually be dropped of at your hotel around 4pm
Portobelo is famous for its fort ruins and turbuent history as one of Spains most important pathways for the gold from the Americas. Housing the ruins of Fort San Jerónimo and the Santiago Battery as well as the old customs house, which used to house all of the plundered treasure from various regions in South America while awaiting shipment back to Spain. Portobelo os also home to the wonderful Black Christ festival when once a year tens of thousands of visitors take to the streets. Iglesia de San Juan de Dios houses Cristo Negro, one of the most popular religious symbols in Panama. Isla Grande is a small Caribbean style island with small beach and great swimming and snorkeling areas. On its headland it also has the a lighthouse with amazing views of the Caribbean coastline.
